PAMELA RUPPA

Primary Teacher

ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR

Since 2000

Nurturing and teaching children for over 35 years, Pam elevates what one thinks of when you consider the word teacher. She sparks each curiosity and ignites each interest while encouraging her students to think, collaborate and practice.

Pam has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. In her early twenties, She worked as an assistant teacher in a Montessori classroom. This experience opened the door to a new way of encouraging learning and caring for children. She wanted to be a part of it. She went on to complete her Montessori certification at the Washington, D.C. Montessori Institute. Mrs Ruppa also obtained certification in The Orton-Gillingham Method, a method for teaching and encouraging dyslexic students, through the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).

Sharing thoughts, asking questions and problem solving with Mrs Ruppa are some of the many joys that take place during her lessons. Her patience and years of teaching experience help new and current students feel a sense of accomplishment and confidence in what they are working on.

What is your favorite part of the school day?

I enjoy reading to my class. When I read chapter books and we discuss vocabulary, characters and make predictions on what will happen next, it is so much fun to see their enthusiasm at all the possibilities.

What are you proudest of?

My children and the amazing, compassionate, responsible adults they have become. My daughter JoAnna (28), my son Anderson (26) and my stepson Brad (34).

As a child, what was your favorite toy or childhood activity?

I have the fondest memories of swimming and boating at my grandparent’s home in New Hampshire and playing with my sisters and cousin.

We understand the importance of nurturing a child’s natural ability to care for others, help those in need, and learn through first-hand adventures. Our students know the impact they can have locally and globally.

The Montessori approach respects the needs of each child, allowing them to develop at their own pace. This increases confidence and creates opportunities for rich exploration at every stage of learning.
